Rough Grit to Fine Finish
Sandpaper consists of small grains bonded to paper or fabric. The grains are referred to as grit, and they vary in size. A higher grit number indicates less coarse particles. The higher the number, the finer the grit: Coarse grit sandpapers have larger grains and are suited for removing large lumps and sharp edges.
